Romont – Switzerland: A great event with a global message of peace, which crosses all borders, religions and cultures.
Well-known orders of knights from all continents with different religions, cultures and political convictions will come together on the 15th of September 2012 in the canton Freiburg in Switzerland to declare the first World Day of Knights. More than a thousand knights bearing chivalric titles and belonging to respected orders of knights, representatives of the nobility from across the world, and tens of thousands of spectators, will attend this memorable day.
The town of Romont in the Swiss canton of Freiburg will come to a stand still on this day and an immense crowd of knights will 'take over'. From the celebratory procession of the orders and chivalric presentations from various historical periods performed by more than two hundred artists, to the spectacular fireworks display and release of thousands of Chinese lanterns late at night, this day will go down in history.
This day is the brainchild Swiss-born Knight and Baron Hans Adrian Kleiner, who himself presides over a sovereign order of knights, the well-known 'Court of the White Hawk Knights'. He is the creator of the first World Day of Knights and president of the organising committee. Accompanied by his charming wife, Baroness Ruama Pia Kleiner of Montecrestese, the Baron and Knight will officially proclaim the World Day and read out the message of peace to millions of viewers across the whole world. Countless TV stations, near and far, have expressed their interest in covering it. It is estimated that the speech will reach 30 to 50 million people.
Using various channels and showbusiness agents, celebrities will be contacted and asked to attend, to take part in this memorable day and to write and sing a new song of peace together. Baron Kleiner says 'perhaps some day in the future we will be able to read that on the 15th of September in the year 2012 everyone came together, citizens, knights, the nobilities, the stars, everyone. And they had just one goal, to proclaim a global message of peace, to reawaken the chivalric spirit in every one of us. And in a generation's time, this new way of thinking will be the norm. On this September 15th peace found a new way forward'.
This World Day has also been set up as a large-scale charity function; all possible proceeds from this event will be donated to charitable causes. For this reason, we are also looking for as many sponsors and donations as possible.
Information about this global event will be available in 4 languages on the official website: www.journee-mondiale-des-chevaliers.com. In addition, volunteers will aid communication in 15 different languages before and during the event. Everyone will be able to talk to each other and come together on this day.
A great event for a great cause – for world peace. Perhaps a step in the direction of world peace by the knights of the third millennium is what is needed.
